Courchevel

France's finest ski resort. The altiport is the arrival experience.

France

Courchevel has its own mountain altiport — one of the most dramatic arrivals in aviation. Not all aircraft can use it, but I can tell you if yours qualifies. When are you going?

Getting there

Land at Courchevel Altiport (LFLJ, the world's steepest runway) or Geneva (LSGG, 2.5h transfer). Altiport is seasonal (Dec–Apr) and requires specialist pilots.

Private aviation to Courchevel — FAQs

Can private jets land at Courchevel Altiport?

Yes, but only certain aircraft can use Courchevel Altiport (LFLJ). It has a very short, steeply sloped runway (18.5% gradient) at 2,008m altitude. Only aircraft approved by Courchevel ATC — typically turboprops and select light jets — can use it. The approach is exceptional.

What's the alternative if I can't use the Altiport?

Geneva Airport (LSGG) is the standard alternative — approximately 2 hours 30 minutes by road to the resort. Chambéry Airport (LFLB) is also an option at 1 hour 45 minutes.
