Cookie Policy
Last updated: 27 March 2026
1. Overview
Stirling Access uses a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies to operate our website and improve your experience. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking of any kind.
This policy explains what technologies we use, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences.
2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. Similar technologies include sessionStorage (cleared when you close the browser tab) and localStorage (persists until you clear it). Under UK regulations (PECR), these are all treated the same way.
3. Essential Cookies
These are strictly necessary for the website to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core features.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-*-auth-token | Authenticates your login session (partner dashboard, account pages) | Cookie (HTTP-only) | Session / 7 days |
sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | Secures the login flow (PKCE code exchange) | Cookie (HTTP-only) | Session |
Legal basis: Strictly necessary — exempt from consent under PECR Regulation 6(4).
4. Analytics
We use a lightweight, first-party analytics system to understand how visitors use our website. This helps us improve the service. All data is anonymous and stored in our own database — it is never shared with third parties.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sa_sid | Anonymous session identifier — groups pageviews into a single visit | sessionStorage | Until tab is closed |
sa_attr | First-touch attribution — records how you originally found us (e.g. Google search, a link from a partner) | localStorage | Persistent (until cleared) |
What we collect: Page URL, referrer, device type, browser, screen size, UTM parameters. We do not collect your IP address, name, email, or any other personal data through analytics.
Legal basis: Legitimate interest — minimal privacy impact, first-party only, no personal data processed.
5. Preferences
A small number of localStorage items are used to remember your preferences on the site.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sa_cookie_notice | Remembers that you have seen this cookie notice | localStorage | Persistent |
sa_notif_seen_* | Tracks which partner dashboard notifications you have read | localStorage | Persistent |
sa_onboarding_session | Preserves your partner onboarding progress if you refresh the page | localStorage | Until onboarding completes |
Legal basis: Strictly necessary / legitimate interest — these store your explicit choices and cannot function without local storage.
6. What We Do Not Use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies
- No third-party analytics (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.)
- No cross-site tracking or fingerprinting
- No social media tracking widgets
- No data brokers or data sharing with advertisers
7. Third-Party Services
The following third-party services are used in the delivery of our website. None of them set tracking cookies:
- Vercel — Website hosting. May set a minimal
__vercel_live_tokencookie in preview deployments only (never in production). - Google Fonts — Served via Next.js font optimisation, which self-hosts the font files. No requests are made to Google's servers.
8. How to Manage Cookies
You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear browsing data
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
- Edge: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data
Clearing cookies will log you out of any active sessions. Clearing local storage will reset your cookie notice preference and analytics session.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as our technology evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
